They will be moving the shipment of bamboo shoots every Sunday via air freight to ensure a steady supply of bamboo for the panda pair in Qatar
CIMC Anda Shun International Logistics, a Coop member in Shanghai and Shenzhen, China, carries out a special mission—transporting bamboo and bamboo shoots to meet the dietary needs of Sihai and Jingjing, the first pair of Chinese pandas to arrive in Qatar. The shipments, which occur every Sunday, travel from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) to Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, ensuring a fresh and continuous supply of bamboo for the pandas.
This important project highlights CIMC Anda Shun’s capability in handling sensitive and time-critical shipments. Daniel Song from CIMC’s Overseas Market Department expressed the company’s pride in taking on this delicate assignment. “We are honored to handle such an important assignment,” he said. Moreover, our dedication to professionalism and care ensures that these pandas receive their food without any delays,” Song commented.
“We are demonstrating exceptional logistical expertise in managing this project, ensuring that we carefully pack, transport, and deliver the bamboo shipments on time every week. “Lastly, I would like to invite my Coop partners to watch the heartwarming video of the pandas enjoying their bamboo here and see the dedication that goes into ensuring their happiness,” he added.
The pandas, Sihai and Jingjing, arrived in Qatar in 2022 as part of a significant cultural exchange between China and Qatar. Pandas have specific dietary needs, with bamboo comprising over 99% of their diet. Therefore, ensuring that the pandas receive fresh bamboo regularly is essential to their well-being, and their role is crucial in maintaining this supply chain.
Congratulations to CIMC Anda Shun and all the best for their upcoming projects!
