Cooperative Logistics Network enjoys 2nd Annual Meeting: Logistics and Materials Handling

Thailand has been playing host to the annual gathering of The Cooperative Logistics Network. 172 delegates, came together from 8th -10th May to cooperate to succeed

With a 20 per cent increase in attendance, this successful meeting comes on the back of a tremendous year in which the network passed a significant milestone, 200 member companies worldwide. Coverage now stands at 234 agents in 154 cities in 93 countries.

“The COOP offers us opportunities that we simply can’t find anywhere else or even in fact afford ourselves. Take the marketing package for example, the costs involved in this are extremely high and as a member of the COOP, we receive this free of charge. I already have the brochure and video and will probably get the newly launched website too,” said one enthused delegate.

Coop Logistics Network holds first meet

The inaugural annual meeting of The Cooperative Logistics Network (The COOP), in mid-May saw 141 delegates from 47 countries gather in Bangkok for three days of meetings and networking. “Considering what other networks have managed at their initial conferences, this number is a great achievement,” said Antonio Torres, the key driver behind this freight forwarding network.

The COOP is part of a new generation of networks which are empowering and mobilizing independent freight forwarders to work together as global ‘mega-forwarders.’ “At the heart of The COOP is mutual cooperation,” explained Torres. “Without it, the network simply would not function.”
